Functional condition: tested and working, not tested, or only for parts. Most items here are listed as tested and working.
Physical condition: mint, near mint, very good, good or fair, describing cosmetic wear.
Brand and era: the maker, and whether the item dates from before or after 2000.
Lens notation: 24-70mm f/2.8 means the focal length range and the widest aperture.

What to check before buying

Confirm the lens mount matches your camera: Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E, Fuji X and Leica M are not interchangeable without an adapter. For lenses, look for haze, fungus, scratches on the front or rear glass and oily aperture blades; a few specks of dust inside are normal and rarely show in pictures. For digital bodies, the shutter count indicates how much use a camera has had. For film cameras, check whether the light meter works and the light seals are intact. Batteries, chargers and caps are included only where the listing says so.

Will a Nikon lens fit a Canon camera?

Not directly. Each system has its own lens mount: Canon EF and RF, Nikon F and Z, Sony E, Fuji X, Leica M and others. Some combinations work with an adapter, often with limits on autofocus or aperture control, and some do not work at all. Check the mount named in the listing against your camera before buying.

Is dust inside a used lens a problem?

A few specks of dust inside a lens are normal, even in new lenses, and almost never show in photographs. Fungus, haze and scratches on the glass are the real concerns, since they can reduce contrast and sharpness. Look at the listing photos and description for these, especially on older lenses.
